Citing differences over the way the party was being run by the family of former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, Sampat, a former finance minister in the Chautala government and a Jat leader, said, “It’s with a heavy heart that I’ve decided to resign from the party.”
Sampat, associated with the party for over 32 long years, though, did not confirm rumours whether he would join the Congress.
